I’m starting to come out from under piles of backed up work 11 months after Baby K was born. He had a rough start, and we spent his first 40 days in the hospital (Dec 2012-Jan 2013). After that, we had months or recovery at home. As a result, the website became dusty, and I have been pretty much at home for the last year. He’s doing much, much better now, so I’m starting to resume a bit of work-related stuff.
My oldest two kids are both doing great. Asia is in her second year of university, double majoring in anthropology and archaeology. She’s getting ready to go work on a Mayan archaeology dig for her entire spring semester. Dylan is midway into his first year of high school and looking forward to snowboarding. . . and planning to start to learn to drive once summer comes. We’re all quite happy with Baby Kaden, who is well aware that he is the center of all of all lives.
On the work front, I’m just now starting my 2015 book, and I’m midway into my 3rd co-authored book. I do have some 2014 releases—both new books & paperback releases of 2013 books.
In May 2014, my second middle-grade book, ODINS RAVENS, co-authored with Kelley Armstrong will release. The first book, LOKI’S WOLVES, is out now in hardcover and ebook. These are part of a trilogy about Norse myth and monster; the world-is-ending but the gods who are to handle this are already dead.
In June/July 2014, the paperback of my adult novel, THE ARRIVALS, will release. That’s a story about killers from different time periods in an alt world. It’s out now in hardcover and ebook.
In fall 2014, my new YA book . . . title currently not allowed to share . . . will be released. That one is a killer in a small town, a romance, and a slight supernatural twist.
Travel remains very, very light for the foreseeable future. I’m doing a week of school visits in Texas in January. Then, I’ll be at the RT Booklovers Convention in New Orleans May 2014 and at the Forest of Trees festivals in both London, Ontario and Toronto that same week. Beyond that, I have no other events on the calendar right now. That will inevitably change, so please check in on my Twitter, Tumblr, and FB for news of events and news in general. For now, though, I’m at home, in my jammies with a Baby K during the daylight hours and writing in the night.
If you have any questions, I try to answer over on Tumblr. There is an “Ask me Anything” function on there. Feel invited to use it at will.
