Ash and Grams live in the borderline part of Huntsdale--away from the dangers of too many trees and parks, closer to the iron-laden downtown, but not in the most run-down part of town either. Like everything else in her life, Ash has to try to find a way to co-exist between the two. There are bars on the windows to keep mortal threats at bay and wrought iron curlicues on the outside of the door to keep the fey from getting too close.
